MODERN SANTA CRUZ

Visitors will be picked up

airport and commence touring

commercial areas of the

in the area of Canal Isuto
and continue on towards San
Martin Avenue and Monseñor

THE CITY

Visitors will be picked up
from their hotel or the airport and head toward all the residential
areas of Santa Cruz, stopping at the most popular meeting places in the
city.
Next, visitors will move on to
the commercial area of the city where they can enjoy: ice cream shops,
electronics, sporting goods stores and clothing stores. The tour will
continue, passing through the Main Square on the way to the southern
part of the city. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the
Blacutt Plaza and Cine Centre as well as the famous monument to Madre
India (Indian Mother).

ALR 1 - VISIT TO THE SANCTUARY OF COTOCA
Duration: 3 to 4 hours.
Departing from the hotel or airport, visitors will tour Cotoca, located 17km away from Santa Cruz, where they will appreciate an economy based on artisans and their products. This beautiful town comes alive with activity as the followers of the Virgin of Cotoca congregate here from the 8th to the 15th of December, when the religious celebrations take place.
On the way guests will visit the Botanical Gardens which contain great representations of the subtropical flora surrounding Santa Cruz.
Upon arrival to the town of Cotoca, guests visit the temple of the Virgin of Cotoca observing its architecture and the statue of the Virgin.
A walk around the main square will lead guests to the permanent “Feria Artesanal” (Artisan Fair).It is here that pottery workshops produce a great variety of artistic pieces. Guests will have the opportunity to observe the process of the making of some of these pieces.
Later guests will visit “El Trapiche” where they will observe the traditional method of processing sugar cane and taste the products derived from sugar cane.

to Porongo, arriving in 30 minutes to the main square. Tours will begin
with a visit to the church and museum “La Palizada del Carretero
Enamorado” where guests will observe historical items that are part of
the history of the town (ceramics, woodwork etc.)
Visit to the local market,
observing the elaboration of typical dishes, breads and desserts.
Surrounding the town guests will find attractions such as the “La Laguna
Capihuara” a pristine lagoon and waterfall with fully equipped cabins.
“Los Lagos Resort” in Las Cruces, offers accommodation with TV, bar, and
